About the directory

Best of Morgan County is a local list of the people who turn a piece of land into a place you can use, around Decatur, Hartselle, Trinity, Priceville, Falkville, Somerville and the rest of the county.

What's on it

Land clearing and dirt work first, then the folks you call after that, like septic, wells, driveways, concrete and fencing. We only add a new kind of work once we've found and called at least 5 good local businesses for it, so you won't land on a page with two names on it.

Who runs it

It's run by the folks behind Morgan County Land Clearing. We started it because trying to find a crew for clearing or dirt work online usually means wading through big national sites that list companies two states away.

How businesses get on it

We call every one of them first, and they have to be working in the county. Getting listed is free, and nobody can pay to move up the list. There's more on how we pick businesses.
